Macarons & Merry Christmas!

I had a thing for macarons. My dream is to be able to make macarons in cute kawaii characters. Since I'm just a beginner, I wanted to create the original round shape first. If I succeed in making the main cookies, then the kawaii characters should be easier. As a lot of people mentioned in videos/blogs, macarons are finicky. I wish it's as easy as the comic I made, haha. I failed both attempts. The first time I made it, there was no ridges, but they are quite close. 

Second attempt: they look and taste like other types of cookies. I didn't take picture of it. So, I spent Christmas day making macarons and failed. No more almond meal flour left (they are quite expensive here), so... I'll probably do another attempt when I get back here next Chinese New Year. Will update the progress again.
